She was being towed home to Laira from Bristol Bath Road after ‘A’ end dynostarter fire damage. How the end arrived for D1005 Western Venturer on TOPS. She arrived at Laira Depot, Plymouth at 14.00 on November 13 and was withdrawn the following day at 23.00. ‘FOR’ once again denoting she was just ‘Written Off’, but actually the locomotive had suffered ‘A’ dynostarter fire damage and had her ‘B’ engine 655195 removed and fitted to D1010. She had been towed to Laira from Bristol Bath Road depot on the 13th by Class 50, 50010 in a convoy that also included Class 47, 47027.
