Adrian Curtis: A Bibliography
Adrian Curtis wrote his first book on the Western Class 52 Diesel-Hydraulic locomotives of the Western Region of British Railways in 1978. The class of 74 engines ran on BR from 1961 until the final four went out in a blaze of glory in February 1977. Since 1979, the author has devoted his life to researching the fleet and to interviewing many of the important decision makers and designers connected with their lives. Below you will find the main body of his work over the years since 1979, many have become critically acclaimed additions to the railway library and helped to debunk many of the myths associated with individual locomotives and the fleet collectively. Now, regarded, arguably, as the main expert on the lives of the Class 52s, his work being quoted by many other sources and enthusiasts on forums and other websites, as well as printed publications.
