His next offering was part of a trilogy of books on the design and conception of the three main diesel-hydraulic classes, the Warship Class 42/3; Hymek Class 35 and Western Class 52 locomotives. Again all three were critically hailed as research gems and like his other books this title along with the other two in the series are much sought after. The books tell the story of the design and conception of the individual fleets from official paperwork and with interviews from official sources, including the men who made the decisions, all first source research. One reviewer on Amazon described this particular volume as an: “Excellent Historical Document.”
