D1007 Western Talisman
THIS TITLE WILL BE OUT IN 2021: D1007 Western Talisman will always be remembered for the tragic accident at West Ealing on December 19, 1973. The locomotive was derailed after an unlocked battery box door fell down after the train, the 17.18 Paddington-Oxford, left Paddington. Tragically the fallen battery box door hit points and was ripped off and D1007 toppled over as a result. All the details of this accident plus more, including second man’s recollections, questions in the House of Commons and eye-witness accounts, including new information are all included in this volume. Totalling 60 pages, the book has all the regulars, its works record, last workings, and how she ran with a damaged name plate on one side. All of these, plus some previously unpublished photographs, provide the reader another well researched addition to the Western Chronicle archive collection. A5 size, colour and black and white, dust jacket and glossy paper inside, D1007 will cost £16.99 including FREE post and packing.
