The book details her record-braking exploits from paddington-Penzance plus her amazing 580-mile plus trip as part of the amazing three-day Great Briton tour of 1974. There is also full details of the livery myth as well as the story of who she was almost withdrawn in 1975. D1010 went on to work a number of farewell tours and lasted into 1977, shadowing the final Western Tribute tour from Old Oak Common to Plymouth on February 26, 1977. Then there is a lifetime of preservation which began with Foster Yeoman and ended with the DEPG. Since its BR days, the locomotive has thrilled thousands from its home on the West Somerset Railway.
